Mrs. Leonard was born in Lawrence, Kansas in 1958. She graduated from Lee's Summit High School and attended the University of Missouri- Kansas City for both her undergraduate and law school degree. Before attending law school, Mrs. Leonard was a Registered Pharmacist. Upon graduating from law school, she was an associate at the international law firm of Shook, Hardy and Bacon specializing in pharmaceutical litigation.
In 1996, Mrs. Leonard joined a small law firm in Blue Springs, Missouri specializing in family law. Since this time, she has dedicated her practice to family law.
