Mrs. Leonard was born in Lawrence, Kansas in 1958. She graduated from Lee's Summit High School and attended the University of Missouri- Kansas City for both her undergraduate and law school degree. Before attending law school, Mrs. Leonard was a Registered Pharmacist. Upon graduating from law school, she was an associate at the international law firm of Shook, Hardy and Bacon specializing in pharmaceutical litigation.
In 1996, Mrs. Leonard joined a small law firm in Blue Springs, Missouri specializing in family law. Since this time, she has dedicated her practice to family law. Mrs. Leonard, has compiled specialized experience in Family Law, in the following areas:

Modifications of Prior Judgments,

Mrs. Leonard is a trained mediator who has been instrumental in the resolution of many family law disputes. In addition, she is frequently appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem in highly contested child custody cases where abuse or neglect of a minor child is alleged. Mrs. Leonard is a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Division, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and Eastern Jackson County Bar Association.
Mrs. Leonard has served as a disciplinary hearing officer with the Missouri Supreme Court.
