Ms. Fisher was born in Independence, Missouri and graduated high school from Blue Springs High School. She pursued her undergraduate education at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa and attended law school at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
Prior to joining the law firm of Leonard & Finley, Ms. Fisher was a law clerk for the Honorable Marco A. Roldan in Jackson County, Missouri.
While in law school, Ms. Fisher was a literary editor for the University of Missouri - Kansas City Law Review. In addition, Ms. Fisher was on the dean's list four out of six semesters.
